Thank you for your interest in the position of Director of Public Health in Ealing.

Ealing is a highly diverse and vibrant borough in the west of London. Home to nearly 350,000 people, it is the third largest borough by population in London and offers an exciting, diverse and challenging place to drive forward the public health agenda.

There has never been a better time to join the team at Ealing. We are embarking on an ambitious change programme, Future Ealing, which puts healthy people and communities at it’s heart and is committed to improving outcomes for our residents.

Our strong and effective partnerships make a real difference in our community and include joint commissioning with the CCG and integrated services with our health partners. We are active partners in the West London Alliance and there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to lead pan-London Public Health delivery through the London ADPH group.

The Director of Public Health will provide leadership to an experienced and motivated Public Health Team, bringing momentum, creativity and rigour to address the opportunities and challenges ahead.  The post holder will champion a culture of cross-council collaboration, asset-based practice, active citizenship and proactive prevention to deliver better connected and sustainable approaches to improving outcomes for local people.

The Director of Public Health will also provide leadership for the exciting and innovative Sport England Local Delivery Pilot: Let’s Go Southall, working across the council and with multiagency partners. The ambition of this programme is to make it easy for people to get active as part of their everyday lives.

So, if you join us, I will expect a lot of you and you will be supported in return. We want your ambition for the public’s health to match ours. If you have the ability and experience to succeed and you share our energy, passion and optimism you will find Ealing an excellent place to work. I am proud and privileged to work for Ealing Council and if you join our team, I am sure you will be too.
