Ealing is not just home to Ealing studios and a thriving media sector, it is a modern, multi-cultural borough that is at the centre of West London. Home to 300,000 people, Ealing incorporates both inner and outer areas of the capital. It also retains a number of local identities reflecting the borough's seven individual town centres.

Ealing is extremely culturally diverse. It is the fourth most ethnically diverse area in the country with more than forty percent of residents coming from minority groups. As a result, Ealing has developed an international reputation derived from its cultural ties with India and South Asia. These ties, plus the close proximity to Heathrow Airport create excellent opportunities for the borough to act as a gateway for investment from the Indian sub-continent.

Ealing is economically strong. Incomes are above average and job growth rates three times the UK average. Ten thousand businesses are based in the borough and skills levels are above London-wide averages. Despite this general prosperity however, there is great disparity in the local quality of life. Reducing this inequality and regenerating our most deprived areas is key to achieving our long-term ambitions.
